Sleeping on the job

Post  Barrie on Fri Mar 04, 2011 9:05 am

For all those who sailed last Sunday and thought that in future they might take a nap on the newly installed matress between races - dream on! I am informed, in fact by three seperate emloyees of Yorkshire Water that the Silent Night specimen has been removed from the dam wall. However I must commend the Water Board for their prompt action even if it felt like several departments were dealing with it. Not to mention my initial conversation with their switchboard operator who took some convincing that there was a reservoir at Embsay or that it belonged to Y. Water Board.
Anyway it's gone.

By the way - where WAS Barrie today?
Rumour has it that he was taking a quick 40 winks on the mattress and didn't wake up in time when the mattress was towed away.
Probably in a skip somewhere. Wonder what the PY on a skip is? Probably not as quick as the Streaker.
